One incident in West Africa :
- A Marshall Islands-flagged Bulk Carrier, GREBE BULKER, was reportedly boarded while anchored at Owendo inner anchorage, Gabon, on the 02nd of May 2023.
Four incidents in the Indian Ocean:
- UKMTO reported that Live Weapons Firing was to be conducted on 02 May and 03 May 2023.
- UKMTO reported that Naval ships were/are to conduct surface, anti-aircraft and depth charge live firing practice between 02 May and 23 May 2023.
- UKMTO reported that Live Weapons Firing was to be conducted between 05 May and 06 May 2023.
- The U.S. Naval Forces Central Command confirmed the seizure of a Panama-flagged Crude Oil Tanker NIOVI (IMO: 9292498) by the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corp (IRGC) while underway in the Strait of Hormuz (approximately 32nm NE of Khasab, Oman).
